KITTITAS VALLEY WIND POWER PROJECT
Kittitas Valley, WA
Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project (101 MW)
Location: Ellensburg and Cle Elum, Washington
The Kittitas Valley Wind Power Project consists of 48, 2.1 MW Suzlon wind turbines. The turbines have the capacity to generate up to 101 MW. The electricity generated will serve an estimated 28,000 households while simultaneously reducing an estimated 168,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year. The project infrastructure included 15 miles of site roads, 3 miles of public road improvements, 48 turbine sites, a 10-acre laydown area, and a 6.6-acre substation/operations/maintenance facility.
Scope of Work consistent with:

Scope of Work consistent with:
- Project Development: Led the development and permitting phases of the project, creating a project database including all environmental, technical, and land use constraints.
- Turbine Alternative Analysis and Evaluation: Analyzed and evaluated multiple turbine vendors for geometric site conformance as required to mitigate project opposition regarding noise and visual impacts.
- Agency and Property Owner Support (local community approval and acceptance): Provided key support in the preparation of design visualizations, meetings with agencies and property owners, and permit preparation.
- Civil Engineering Design: Project work included roadway design, wind turbine generator site design, substation site design, drainage conveyance design, temporary erosion and sediment control design, laydown area, and operations and maintenance facilities site design.
- Construction Support: Developed post-design solutions for drainage and grading to address site-specific issues and changes in the field conditions.
